According to the amended Prevention and Control of Disease (Wearing of Mask) Regulation (Cap. 599I), eating and drinking on ferries are no longer reasonable excuses for not wearing a mask. Starting from 24 February 2022, taking masks off for eating and drinking will not be allowed on ferries. A person in contravention of the relevant provision commits an offence and the maximum penalty is a fine at level 3 ($10,000).
